Something on my list for the next year is to learn to embroider. I've been captivated by Aneela Hoey's amazing work (I've seen beautiful embroidery on other blogs, but this one sticks out in my mind. She has a fantastic blog, too! So many drool-worthy pictures... and I enjoy reading her posts).
However, for now, I'm a tad obsessed with the concept of embroidery hoop decorating. I need to get some hoops... where do you buy them? The craft store? Thrifting? Garage sales? If you have any good resources/blogs/products to recommend for embroidery, please leave a comment! Inquiring minds want to know :)
Pinterest is full of inspiration this week (click on picture for source):
Original picture I found on Pinterest - jumpstarted the obsession. Can you see why?
This is adorable. I'd love to make a working clock like this, if it was even possible.
So pretty! Lace in embroidery hoops - people are so creative.
This is a really big personal favorite - old maps in hoops. This will DEFINITELY be in my future decorating plans. Extra points for the Berlin map.
I was already starting to think this, but wouldn't these be perfect for a baby room? These pictures are also top picks for baby cuteness.
Everybody say, "awwwww!"
Adorable mobile idea!
Even the empty embroidery hoops make a statement. So perfect.
From the ceiling! Again, the creativeness of people amazes me!
And the classic sewing room. I can see this happening in my future.
So, are you inspired?!? (I am). I hope you are. I feel like I could ask this on every favorite Friday. Maybe... I will :)
Don't forget to leave any embroidery links for me if you have any!
